Baby Steps Through Motherhood

I wanted to compare the three newborn pics. Here are some. I wish I would have taken exact ones.

Preston is loving holding Makenna lately. He talks to her like she will respond to him. He says “you are getting heavy, you are growing Makenna. I know, I know” She is almost 6 and 1/2 pounds now. Things are going pretty good with her. I think we are getting a bit spoiled because she has a longer sleep period at night. I hope she continues that.

Naomi is quiet the handful these days. She wants what she wants when she wants it. Ha. You tell her no and she gets her cute smile on her face and does it anyway. So, we have to stop her and then she cries. Oh the days of learning to be independent are so tough.

Here is the conversation I just had with Preston….

He was suppose to be taking his nap..don’t think he was but he was really quiet and his light was off so that was good. He came down stairs and opened the door to the basement where I was.

Me: You need to go back to your room, quiet time isn’t over.
Preston: But I smell something hot.
M: something hot?
P: Yeah, I dont know what it is>
M: (get up, go upstairs to his room with him, lay him back in bed) have you slept yet?
P: No, I was looking out my blinds and tried to tell the wind to stop but it wouldn’t stop.
M: Well, that is because you are not in charge of the wind. God is.
P: Are you in charge too?
M: Yes, God put me in charge of you but God is in charge of the weather.
P: What is the weather like?
M: It is nice outside right now, it is pretty sunny.
P: (gets really big eyes) I dont like the sun.
M: You don’t.
P: No, it makes my eyes hurt.
M: Ok, now take a nap.
